TRY NOT TO LAUGH IF YOU ARE SITTING @ YOUR DESK...

BELIEVE IT OR NOT YOU CAN BUY THESE T-SHIRTS.... FREAKIN HILARIOUS!

Memo from Rush

By Rush Limbaugh: I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million. If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable. Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt. Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well. You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense? However, our own U.S. Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month. I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting. "When do we finally do something about this?" If this doesn't seem fair to you, it is time to forward this to as many people as you can. How many people can YOU send this to ?

HONDA + SNOW / ICE = NICE DRIVE

Ok everyone, Those of you who know us know that we bought a Honda Pilot a few years back and let me tell ya, this SUV to be by far is the best mid sized on the road today. The weather yesterday turned UGLY, FAST... Lemme tell ya our pilot took it like NO BIG DEAL, popped that baby into 4 Wheel Anti slip and off we went from my parents house in beavercreek where it was a solid sheet of ice onwards to our soon to be old house in Clackamas (soon to be Happy Valley...). We even took the 212 HWY and the turn off to our place has a very steep hill, I would guess about a 45% uphill grade, a very tiny sports car had stopped mid hill and turned around and came back down. So if you are going to purchase a SUV in the near future, NEW or OLD get a Honda Pilot....

Great Album

Ok, I normally wouldn't give this a second glance BUT, over the summer Kristine and I along with millions of others got hooked into "ROCK STAR INXS".... Seemed like an odd premise but we went with it, we both were big fans of INXS back in the day but we were both a bit afraid of how truly cheesy and American Idolish this really could turn out...... WE WERE WRONG on every level, not only were the top 6 on the show truly talented performers but when it came down to the final two we were both on opposite ends of the couch as far as who we would pick, Kristine went with either Marty Casey or Mig.. ( Go figure ) , she couldn't stand the way JD moved around the stage, I on the other hand was a HUGE JD supporter, So in the end I was happy... OK Fast foreword just 3 months, this was the length of time they permitted to do an entire new album, appropriately titled "SWITCH"..... So VH-1 has for the past week let everyone listen to the new album in its entirety.... Well party goes in my opinion I have one thing to say.... INXS is BACK in a big way, I know many people would disagree with replacing Michael Hutchence, I was one of them, BUT JD Fortune is a great addition to this band. We must never forget the music that Michael Hutchence gave to us through INXS. So go out and buy the NEW INXS album SWITCH.....

YOU DID WHAT ON YOUR VACATION?

BUMPER STICKER OF THE YEAR

What day is it?

MAN, It is only Tuesday, I feel like it could quite possibly be Thursday...... But it is not, I can tell it is going to be a VERY slow week? So I was thinking to myself, or should I say talking, because that 's what I do, and was pondering; is there an end to the information super Hiway? Cause you do know Highway's do end at somepoint, I-5....Ends......205.....Ends.......I-84.....Yup it too ends at somepoint, can you imagine one of the computer geeks in their parents basement surfing the net and all of a sudden, BAMM, a ROAD ENDS 500 FEET sign comes up in what else?? A POP UP! Something to ponder... Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Pop's
I love ya!

Today is a better day!

Ok, So a few of you are wondering what the heck happened yesterday with the whole rant thing, Well someone, who was probably just a random passer by felt it would be cool to leave me comments about my kids and other rather obscene gestures, so I deleted the comments and posted the rant. To all others I am sorry you had to be drawn into such childish behavior! So I just ran across this new TOM site.... Check it out it is pretty funny.

Wednesday, October 19, 2005

Get along!

Ok, If you do not have anything nice to say then don't say it at all, Why do some feel it necessary to come on a BLOG site and tell others to "F*** off" or say "your an A**hole??" Whatever floats your boat, unfortunately for you your comments will be deleted right away, you have gained nothing. So I bid who ever is leaving these LOW LIFE comments a not so fond farewell as I have deleted you comments. I prefer to spend my time and energy on more positive things such as my Wife and Kids who I would do anything for. Have a GREAT day.

Psst, Hey C'mon man wake up!

OK, Who can tell me what song the above quote "Psst, Hey C'mon man wake up!" and don't just tell me its a Van Halen song (that means you YAMFU)....... So much has happened lately I don't know where to start so I will just dive in..... We purchased another VW Bug, a 66 to be exact, for those interested take a look, my first bug was a 66, she was a beauty but I don't have any pictures so if any of you have one of her PLEASE let me know, I only had it for less than a year total. So with this new purchase we now own 3....YES 3 VW Bugs, where will it end you ask? Well as soon as we can find Jonathan a VW Thing our conquest will be over. Next thing is Kristine and I have decided to put our house up for sale and look for something with a bit more room for us, Kids, Dogs and yes you guessed it our VW's, So if you see a place and it is not too small or not too expensive let us know, also if you want to BUY our house let us know. Whew, is that enough?? Well if not too damn bad, I will do more next week. This weekend? Soccer, pumpkins, Haunted trail and working on the house! Much love and respect!

WHAT THE????

Wow, Anyone remember Carrot top? You know the comic? I thought this guy was funny.... What happened? This doesn't eve look real.... One word................................STEROIDS!!!!!

HAPPY, HAPPY - JOY, JOY!

Ok Peeps, Time to brag, This is Jennifer's 3rd year of playing soccer, she has always been very timid and somewhat afraid to be aggressive, well times they are a changin'. Last night was her first practice of the season and man she kicked major ----KIDS PLUG YOUR EARS---- ASS! The coaches and a few of the parents asked if she had practiced over the Summer and I said no, they all felt she had done a complete 180! I am sooooooo proud of my girl..... OK Second Brag..... Jonathan had his VERY FIRST soccer practice last night, and although I was not able to go Kristine said he too kicked major butt, he was totally into it. This is soo freakin cool, as many of you know I played Football in High School, looking back I have ZERO regrets but if I had to do it all over again I would have chosen Soccer, I feel that Football be it is a hard sport does not take as much pure talent and endurance as Soccer. For this reason I truly hope both my kids continue to play, that and I really hope they can get some sort of a scholarship...... Peace Out! Soccer style......

Monday........yuck!

Howdy All..... Well let's recap, Friday was Bunco night for Kristine, she had a great time learning how to roll dice..... She tried to explain it to me but I lost interest when she started talking about rolling a 1 or 2 or 3 then switching to another table???? WHATEVER! So on Friday I played Poker with Jennifer & Jonathan (well Kid Poker at least) and the Big winner was Bubba " THE GAMBLER " Paulsen, he walked away with the entire pot! Saturday was GREAT! We went to the 99W Drive in with our VW Club and saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Herbie Fully Loaded ( very appropriate ). Both Movies were really cool, I had forgotten how COOL a drive in movie is! Great price too, 16 bucks for all four of us and two movies, Picture was great! The only problem was we had a portable radio (Michelle only has a 6v) and the reception was not so hot, poor Kristine had to keep moving the antenna and if one of us moved a certain way the reception would go out the window! So we arrived home at 330am..... WOW! Sunday was pretty much a wash, a little of this and that! Have a great day!

LAST WORD

Man, This thing is addicting, OK, not sure if any of you remember the Rock group that was big in the Late 80's (those of you under 30 need not read any further!)

Living Colour?? They had a song that I loved! Title was "Talking Loud and Sayin' Nuthin'." I think this should be the new theme song for the............... WAIT FOR IT.......................... HERE IT COMES...................................................................... DEMOCRAPS!!!! OOOH, OUCH, THAT HURT.... SAD BUT TRUE MY FRIENDS!!! COMMENTS SURE TO FOLLOW...I AM SURE OF IT! Peace out REPUBLICAN G.W. STYLE!!!!!

Dude, Get a freakin clue!

AND I QUOTE! "Let me start by telling you this: I have never used steroids. Period. I don't know how to say it any more clearly than that. Never." SO, I GUESS THE DRUG TEST LIED HUH?? NICE TRY BUDDY!

MUNDANE----I mean Monday!

Ok, So my first post this fine monday morning way a tad bit depressing, none the less a true reality and should NEVER be taken lightly, unfortunately there are many people throughout this world who hate Americans and the people who support American views..... Anyway.... On a lighter not, THANKS to Auntie Regina for throwing a WILD & WET BBQ! What a Great everyone had! Especially Bubba, he cant stop talking about how he got Gpa Mike all wet! We have to do more before the great weather leaves for the Winter! So the annual Rockin' round' the block in Gresham is fast approaching and barring any STRIKE by the CWA I will be there! Will you???

WRONG!

I had this Email sent to me, What a sick feeling. This particular briefcase bomb was captured in Pakistan. This briefcase bomb is like the ones used in the Madrid train station, which were detonated by cell phone. The phone sends a charge to the blasting cap that causes the explosives in the cylinders to detonate. The nails and bolts wrapped in plastic act as shrapnel once the explosion takes place, which maximizes the amount of injury and death. Although briefcases are examined at the entry points of many military posts, this type of bomb can be used just about anywhere else, making it particularly deadly in a terrorist operation aimed at civilian targets. The person who plants the device simply makes a call to the cell phone number from a safe distance which detonates the device.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Hello Everyone (all 3 of you). This is probably my last post until after the 4th so I wanted to remind EVERYONE how truly great this country is. All of us can walk down the street without the fear of a carbomb attack, We can all go enjoy a $30 dollar cup of coffee flavored coffee, We can go and see any movie we want or at least afford, We are all free to voice our opinion, good or bad we all have the right! We are free to eat anything we want, drink whatever we want (within limits!) We are all truly blessed to be able to live without the fear that so many people throughout this world live in each and every day! So please take a minute and reflect on what you are grateful for and then PLEASE take another minute to think about the ones who are fighting for those who DON'T have the freedom's we have and that are fighting to enable others to have the rights we do have! Peace out VW RAGTOP BUG STYLE!

THIS JUST IN!

Things that make you think a little:There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January. In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city , about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq. When some claim that President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following: A. FDR led us into World War II. B. Germany never attacked us; Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ... an average of 112,500 per year. C. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ...an average of 18,334 per year. D. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. E.Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost ...an average of 5,800 per year. F. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.g. In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking. But ..It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation. We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick .It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military morale is high! The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts. But Wait . there's more!JOHN GLENN (ON THE SENATE FLOOR) Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13 Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living. This IS a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military. Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn): "How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?" Senator Glenn (D-Ohio): "I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank." "I ask you to go with me ... as I went the other day... to a veteran's hospital and look those men ...with their mangled bodies .. in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job! You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job. You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags. You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job? What about you?" For those who don't remember .. During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA. Now he's a Senator! If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.

Times they are a' changin'......

Ok........ So how have all of you been? I know I have been less than active on posting things on our Random Thought's page; BUT such is life. So during the course of my day I receive close to 100 emails a day, mostly work related but from time to time I do get the occasional "pass this on" or else your big toe will get infected. Right, I think we all get sucked into those and we do our best to pass them on to our Friends, Family and co-workers. You may be wondering where I am going with this? Well hang in there, like the name of the page, this is my random series of thoughts. So about a month ago I received an Email from a co-worker friend of mine, the subject title read "agree or delete", sounded ok enough so I continued to read the Email; Well it so happens that I did agree for the most part with the Email, in a nutshell is basically explained how our schools have come under attack from certain groups that feel it is unnecessary to post the 10 commandments, declaration of independence or say the pledge of allegiance in our schools, along with this; these groups are also trying to have the word GOD taken from any State or Government owned building. Long story short I feel this is a complete waste of time to try and in a sense delete a portion of our history, I don't care if you don't believe in God or feel it necessary to teach your children about God but DO NOT try and change the past, like it or not this is a HUGE part of our history, 52 of the 55 that signed the Constitution were Christians and like the Christians or not it was a HUGE part of our culture back then. The word God is on the walls of courthouse's, government and state building's, and most of all printed on our money we use each and everyday! Don't you have better things to do than to nit pick at a little thing like this? How about redirecting you energy to something more meaningful like World hunger, local state issues such as the local government and the spending going on and the lack of funding to our schools. Whew, so many of you received this email from me because it is something near and dear to my heart as many of you know, I am trying my best to raise a good Family with good values and good common sense. I feel that my children are so well rounded and have a good start and I certainly hope that things don't get too bad by the time they go out on their own. So if you did receive this email from me and it offended you I am truly sorry, that was not my intention BUT know this that if you Email me back bashing everything I believe in and basically tell me that I am brainwashed you had better damn well be ready to back up your statement, again I believe in each of us having our own beliefs but DO ON TO OTHERS AS THEM ON TO YOU, or something like that. Here is the Email you may be wondering about that got me so fired up. As you read this please be warned there is the use of some harsh word's. Again you can see why I am so fired up. "Mike Paulsen, you're kidding me right? Please tell me you are not turning into a right wing bible thumper that thinks pushing their out of touch religious beliefs on every one else in the world will result in a better world. You have to be shitting me right?!? More people have died in the name of your god than for any other reason in the history of mankind. I recently saw the new Ridley Scott film Kingdom of Heaven. The most interesting part of the film is that it takes place in the dark ages and it is about the Islamic Muslims killing the English Christians in the name of god for the purpose of taking back what is rightfully theirs, Jerusalem. Sound familiar? Yeah, here we are 700 years later and we are still killing each other because my god's dick is bigger than your gods dick. Totally ridiculous. Religion has always been and will always be about sheer numbers. Why do you think the Catholic church, still to this day, has forbidden birth control? Sheer numbers my man. The more unprotected sex you have, the more baby Catholics you pop out who will soon be putting money in the collection bowl on Sunday. I can't believe that my government, the one that takes my tax dollars with every paycheck is spending it's time deliberating and hearing arguments that public schools should have a copy of the 10 commandments in the hallway. Of course they say "so help me god." Our court system was developed and perpetrated by some of the most ridiculous religious zelats man has ever known. The Pilgrims. Nutballs whose religious beliefs were so extreme they were banned from practice throughout Western Europe. It's because of right wing religious nuts like the individual who initially wrote this email that we are in the fucked up situation we are currently in. Thousands of Americans dying in Iraq and Afghanistan for absolutely no justified reason. WMDs, where are they? Links between Iraq and the 9/11 attacks,..Where are they? Revenge fuck to absolve daddy's name, yeah that proof is there. Mike, you really have to snap out of this suburbs, I love god, fuck the left mindset man. There is more to the world than just put god in our schools and courts and everything will be right in the world. It takes involvement, hard work, education, funding, reorganization of government spending, social programs that support all Americans, universal health care for every American. If you want to make the world a better place, do something. Help someone, run for office. Please just don't tell me god will make it better. God and all of his followers have been making it so much worse for the rest of the world for so long, maybe some organized thought would be a better approach. You are making us all dumber by sending out this trash of an email." Please don't send me this religious propaganda anymore. It's is the most ridiculous shit I've ever heard. Next you are going to tell me marriage is for one man and one woman only right? Then comes the gay people are going to hell. When does the religiously sponsored hate stop? You get to decide that one big boy." I hope all of you can see what an idiot this person was to spew so much hatred, they talk about pushing my right winged religious view? Those of you who truly know who I am and what I am about know that is complete B***S**t..... Kind of a bummer I used to call this person my friend. So have a great day everyone and don't let the negative people in this world drag you down, just smile and say HAVE A NICE DAY.......THEN FLIP THEM THE BIRD!!!! Untill next time.... Peace out VW Ragtop Bug style!!!!!

RANT

Forgive me because I am about ready to go off the deep end. Ready?Wait for it....Here goes! I am having a really hard time with this whole assumption that the "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" means that you don't have to be a parent anymore. I am sick and tired of all these people who DO NOT feel it necessary to raise their own children, whatever happened to parents HELPING their children with their homework, or better yet if it was too much for you to handle to hire a tutor. I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE, I know that a tutor may be spendy but it IS YOUR CHILD, you do what is necessary to help your child get a good education, it is not the responsibility of all the other taxpayers to pay for the extra help your child needs, I mean do not get me wrong, if your child has a mental handicap that's one thing but if your child is well capable but just due to total lack of support from their parents they are failing in school you as a parent MUST pick up the slack....... DAMMIT PEOPLE! GET A FREAKIN CLUE HERE...... NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND MEANS THAT ALL CHILDREN IN THE UNITED STATES ARE ELIGIBLE TO THE BASIC RIGHT OF A GOOD EDUCATION, NOT THAT SCHOOLS MUST HOLD YOUR CHILD'S HAND FOR 24 HOURS A FREAKIN' DAY TO MAKE SURE THEY STUDY AND DO THEIR GODDAMN HOMEWORK@!!!!!! Michael......

WHAT DAY IS IT??

Holy Crap Batman, Well ok, I figured it was about time to fill all of you (total of 3 people) in as to the happening's of the Paulsen family household. Well we had a very good Christmas, Santa was very generous to Jennifer & Jonathan, all of us managed to stay pretty healthy over the holidaze...... January came and went. February came and went. March came and went, although it came with another Bday for me....Thirty freakin two. Jennifer learned how to ride her bike without training wheels, that was cool. So here we sit in the 2nd full week in April. Jennifer now has a pet RAT, his name is Oswald, I have to tell ya, he is really cool. It really reminds me of Stuart Little, cheesy I know. My 62 is good, I am not driving her much as she is VERY old. We have not done a darn thing on Kristine's 58, hopefully soon. I have just purchased......Wait for it....... a 1990 Ford Ranger----500 dollars, and only has 59K orig miles, the Morons took the plugs out and let it sit for the winter! Hello, freeze up city, Dad and I were able to free it up by removing the head and cleaning everything up, so this next weekend I will be re-assemble this baby..... So that's it, I will try to keep up on this thing......
